Capture subtitles on any site
Use Universal capture on course platforms, news sites and video hosts.
Steps
- Open the page with the video and click the SubtitleDown icon.
- Switch on “Capture subtitles on this site” and allow access when Chrome asks.
- Reload the page, start the video and turn its subtitles on.
- The captured tracks appear in the popup. Download them or open them in the editor.
Tips
- Use “Scan player tracks” to read captions straight from the HTML5 player.
- If the video is embedded from another domain, add that domain in Settings → Universal capture sites.
- Encrypted (DRM) streams and subtitles inside video segments can’t be captured.
