Download YouTube subtitles
Save manual, auto-generated and auto-translated YouTube captions as SRT, VTT, ASS or TXT.
Steps
- Open any YouTube video and click the SubtitleDown icon in the toolbar.
- Tick the tracks you want. “auto” marks auto-generated captions.
- To get a language the video doesn’t have, pick it under Auto-translate.
- Choose a format and click Download. Several tracks arrive as one ZIP.
Tips
- If a track comes back empty, play the video for a few seconds with CC on, then retry.
- YouTube rate-limits fast bursts of translations. If you see “too many requests”, wait a few minutes.
